What are credit scores?

A credit score is a number that reflects your risk level, as an individual, to a lender. The higher the number, the lower the risk will be to the lender.

What is inside of your credit report?

Personal information, trade lines, credit inquiries, public records, and collections accounts.

How is my credit score calculated?

  • 35% Payment History
  • 30% amount you owe to lenders
  • 15% Length of your Credit History
  • 10% the number of new credit accounts you opened (less than 3yrs)
  • 10% is the mix of credit account that you have such as (mortgages, auto loans, credit cards, student loans, etc.)

How long does negative items stay on your credit report?

Negative credit accounts, or trade lines, can remain on your credit report for up to 7 years or longer depending on what’s being reported to the credit bureaus. Bankruptcies and other public records cab remain present on your report for up to 10+ years depending on what’s being reported to the credit bureaus. Inquiries on your credit report may remain for 2 years. These are the maximum times that are permitted by federal law for reporting agencies to show negative items; however, these times are not mandatory. At any time, a creditor or credit bureau may remove a derogatory remark from your credit report if the consumer requests an investigation into remarks that they feel are incorrect.

Is credit restoration legal?

Absolutely. The Fair Credit Reporting Act allows anyone to dispute inaccurate items on their credit reports. There’s nothing we do that you cannot do yourself when it comes to fixing your credit situation.

What are FICO® scores?

A FICO® Score is a 3-digit number (300-850) based on your credit reports. It helps lenders make quick decisions about the amount, terms, and rate of a loan. (Experian, TransUnion & Equifax)

What are Vantage scores?

VantageScore is a consumer credit-scoring model, created through a joint venture of the three major credit bureaus. The model is managed and maintained by an independent company, VantageScore Solutions, LLC, that was formed in 2006 and is jointly owned by the three bureaus. Vantage scores were developed for consumers to evaluate their own credit worthiness for free. The scores are normally 20 to 25 points off from FICO® scores.

What is considered Poor, Good, Very Good & Excellent credit scores?

  • 300-579 = Poor
  • 580-669 = Fair
  • 670-739 = Good
  • 740-799 = Very Good

How long does it take to see results?

From the moment you start our credit plan your letters will take 5 to 7 days to be emailed to you. Once you receive them you will have to sign them and add your 2 verification documents with your letters and mail them to each individual credit bureau. Your new and updated credit report will take 45 days to come in the mail.
